1 in 5 selected for chief master sergeant

Air Force officials have selected 475 of 2,276 eligible senior master sergeants for promotion to chief master sergeant, the Air Force Personnel Center announced Thursday.
The promotion list will be released at 8 a.m. Central time Nov. 5 on the AFPC public and Ask Web sites. At that time, airmen will be able to access their score notices on the virtual Military Personnel Flight and the Air Force Portal.
The senior master sergeants selected will be promoted according to their sequence number beginning in January.
Here is a look at some selection statistics:
* The selection rate was 20.87 percent.
* The average score for those selected was 662.78.
* The average time in grade was 3.4 years and the average time in service was 23.23 years.
* The average score for decorations was 24.49.
* The average score was based on the following point averages: 135 for enlisted performance reports, 63.57 for the Air Force supervisory exam and a board score of 388.58.
