Courtyard at Randolph will honor cadets

Staff report
Posted : Thursday Oct 22, 2009 10:06:13 EDT

The circular courtyard outside the Air Education and Training Command headquarters at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, will be named Cadet Circle to honor the more than 13,000 aviation cadets and student pilots who received their pilot training there.

Cadet Circle will be dedicated during a ceremony Friday.

The Army Air Corps’ Aviation Cadet Program was started in 1917 during World War I and was conducted at Randolph from 1931 to 1965. During that time, the complex of buildings that now houses AETC headquarters was used to train, feed and house aviation cadets and student pilots.
