Air Force Academy earns 10-year accreditation
Posted : Friday May 15, 2009 11:43:59 EDT
The Air Force Academy recently earned a 10-year accreditation after an intense three-day evaluation by a team from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The commission’s preliminary report cited 16 points of commendation and four areas of concern for the academy, and recommended that it receive its next review in 10 years, according to an academy news release.
The final written report is scheduled to be released at the end of this month.
“This is like an institutional grand slam home run for us,” Lt. Gen. John F. Regni, the Academy superintendent, said in the release.
The academy has been accredited continuously at the bachelor’s degree level by the NCA/HLC since 1959.
