Cope Tiger exercise begins in Thailand

A multilateral air and ground exercise is under way in Thailand, Pacific Air Forces announced.
Cope Tiger 2009 takes place at Korat and Udon Thani Royal Thai Air Force Bases. It began Monday and wraps up March 20.
The annual exercise involves more than 2,300 people and 156 aircraft and air defense units from the U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps, Royal Thai Air Force and Army, and Royal Singapore Air Force.
About 1,200 of the personnel and 55 of the aircraft are from the U.S., according to a PacAF press release.
U.S. aircraft participating include the A-10 Thunderbolt, E-2 Hawkeye, E-3B Sentry Airborne Warning and Control System, KC-135 Stratotanker, K/C-130 Hercules, C-17 Globemaster, F-15 Eagle, F/A-18 Hornet and F/A-18 Super Hornet.
All the U.S. Air Force units are from PacAF.
