Lt. Gen. John A. Bradley, chief of the Air Force Reserve, is under investigation by the Air Force inspector general, and his retirement has been postponed until the investigation concludes, Air Force Times has learned.
Air Force officials confirmed that Bradley, a 40-year veteran, is under investigation, but they would not comment on the nature of the investigation. They also could not say when the investigation will be completed.
“There’s nothing more we can say until the inquiry is completed,” Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Col. Clancy Preston said.
Bradley was scheduled to retire June 24, but his retirement has been delayed pending the completion of the IG investigation.
Maj. Gen. Charles E. Stenner Jr., assistant deputy chief of staff for strategic plans and programs, will take over for Bradley on June 24 as previously scheduled, Preston said.
Bradley, a Vietnam veteran, has flown more than 7,000 hours in the A-10, F-4 and F-16. He has 337 combat missions under his belt.
