Posted : Tuesday May 13, 2008 18:52:31 EDT
Four of the Air Force’s most senior maintenance officers are moving to new assignments, the service said Friday.
Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Owen, commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Robins Air Force Base, Ga., is set to become director of logistics and sustainment for Air Force Materiel Command. As commander of the logistics center, Owen was one the prime decision makers on how to the get F-15 Eagles back into service following the midair breakup of an F-15C in November. Earlier, Owen headed the F-22 Raptor program office, a post typically held by pilots.
Taking over the Warner Robins post is Maj. Gen. Polly A. Peyer, who now serves at Air Force headquarters as director of resource integration for the deputy chief of staff for logistics, installations and mission support. Peyer earlier served as vice commander of the Okalahoma City Air Logistics Center.
Brig. Gen. Arthur B. Cameron III, now the commander of the 309th Maintenance Wing, Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is taking Peyer’s job on the Air Staff. Cameron is being replaced at Ogden by Brig. Gen. John B. Cooper, now assigned as director of logistics for Air Force Special Operations Command headquarters at Hurlburt Field, Fla.
