Reserve captain may run for Congress
Posted : Monday Feb 4, 2008 6:33:06 EST
OMAHA, Neb. — An Air Force Reserve captain says he’s considering a run for Nebraska’s 2nd House District this year.
Richard Carter, a Democrat, is forming an exploratory committee for a possible run against Republican Rep. Lee Terry.
Carter says Nebraskans are tired of the politics of division, fear and intimidation. He says his experience in the Air Force, which included flights over Iraq and Afghanistan, has prepared him to be the kind of leader the state needs.
Carter says he has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Oklahoma and teaches economics at Metro Community College.
