3,100 NCOs, officers promoted

The Air Force Personnel Center announced Wednesday that 3,100 people in the Air Force will move up a notch in November.
Nearly 2,700 enlisted airmen will sew on new noncommissioned officer patches and more than 400 officers will pin on new ranks to major, lieutenant colonel and colonel.
The airmen got word earlier in the year that they were being promoted. Now they get to wear the stripes.
The officers already knew they were approved for promotion but couldn’t pin on their field grade rank until November. Many have been waiting for almost a year.
