A security guard at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., was shot and slightly wounded Thursday at a base hangar. The unidentified airman first class was taken to Christus Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, treated and released for minor injuries, a base spokeswoman said.
The shooting happened about 7:30 a.m. during shift change at Hangar 3, the location of the 2nd Security Forces Squadron’s operations. The base spokeswoman said a fellow security forces airman fired the shot, which was declared an accidental discharge. The incident is under investigation.
