Ore. Guard F-15s featured on ‘24’

Look for Air Force F-15 Eagles in an upcoming episode of the television series “24.”

Two F-15s from the Oregon Air National Guard’s 173rd Fighter Wing flew to Southern California in December to be part of the action series.

The jets should appear in an episode airing sometime in mid-February, said Capt. Lucas Ritter, a spokesman for the 173rd.

The jets and their pilots — Col. Tom Schiess and Lt. Col. Matt Andrews — were filmed while on the ground at Mojave Airport. Maintainers from Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., kept watch over the planes.

The airmen won’t know how much time their planes or faces get on the screen until they see the episode, Ritter said.

This year much of the breathless plotting of “24” has focused on terrorist attacks in Southern California. Michael Klick, a producer with “24,” said using real fighters added realism to the series.
