‘Operation Emeril’ targets troops
Aw yeah, baby! If the chow hall suddenly kicks things up a notch, you may have celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse to thank.
As drill sergeant of the delicious, Lagasse will teach military hash-slingers how to turn basic rations into movable feasts on Discovery Channel’s eco-friendly Planet Green network. Dubbed “Operation Emeril,” the show was shot inside a field kitchen at the Army’s culinary school at Fort Lee, Va.
His mission: Train military cooks to prepare healthy and delicious meals with basic ingredients.
The show airs at 8 p.m. June 29, followed by “Emeril Salutes the Military,” offering up new recipes in time for the Fourth of July. Visit www.planetgreen.discovery.com.
