Medal of Honor recipient teams up with Maxim

Maxim magazine and recent Medal of Honor recipient Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer are teaming up to produce an upcoming issue dedicated to the U.S. military.

Meyer will serve as Maxim’s “military adviser” for the issue, which will include a variety of military-oriented features.

“As a tribute to the fallen and a salute to those who are actively serving, we are launching our first-ever military-dedicated issue of Maxim,” says Ben Madden, Maxim’s chief revenue officer.

The issue hits newsstands Nov. 1, and a portion of proceeds will go to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.

Meyer says he hopes to raise $1 million for the foundation by its 50th anniversary on May 28. He has also issued a “Challenge to America” to match his efforts and raise an additional $1 million.

“I chose to partner with the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation on this initiative because of our common mission of supporting Marines and Navy Corpsmen families. Education paves the path for our future, and the money we raise will lead to a brighter future for the sons and daughters of many Marines,” Meyer said.
