Air Force 60th Anniversary - Air Force Times

" “Why we ARE better than them” First I’m sure that there out there saying “Oh my god-he actually thinks we are better than them.” Well not so fast there, I am but I’m not. I know sounds a lot like a politician huh? What I am saying is that tactically, morally, judgmentally we’re better. There has been and I am sure there will be more who will say that rest assured there’s no way we can lose this war militarily-WHAT CAVE HAVE THEY BEEN IN? I will any day and so will lots of Soldiers debate that point. If a guy or gal has made the decision to put a belt on laden with explosives and blow themselves to kingdom come in a hospital full of our wounded, if a bunch of guys hijack a plane and fly it into one of our Army bases taking several innocent lives along the way guess what? I hear you out there, sit down and listen I’m just getting started. YES IT CAN HAPPEN! What I am getting at here is this, how would the world look at us if say we had a round up and collected every turban wearing Muslim we could find loaded them on a plane and flew them into some terrorist training camp along the border area between everyone’s favorite Stans, Paki and Afghani. Just a thought but I imagine some world leaders would be pretty upset, and goodness could you imagine the gridlock in Washington, hell they can’t even agree that pants have zippers without some damn study group or commission. An even cheaper way, let’s just start executing everyone we catch in Iraq because he a Sunni and some Shiite said he planted IED’s. Yep it happens I saw it with my own eyes and heard it. One political faction will sell out the other to the highest bidder or whoever is going get them the most brownie points with the haves at that particular time. No, goofy I never saw anyone executed-read it again-s—l---o—w—e---r. What I’m saying is that we would do none of the above. We respect ourselves and mankind to much, we like our place at the head of the table. Face it the entire world, free or not looks to us to judge how things are going to go or not go. Our foes in this do not care how many lives they take or ruin along the way the only, let me say that again-ONLY opinion that really matters is the one that agrees with them. So when you really get down to the nuts and bolts of it, we are better. I know call me what you want, as long as you are talking about me you are leaving someone else alone, and hell I’m just going to take my hearing aids out anyway. Brian K. Pearce "
