Other Pay: Adoption subsidy
The military adoption subsidy, a $2,000 reimbursement per child (with a maximum of $5,000 per calendar year for multiple adoptions) for certain adoption expenses, is available if you use a nonprofit agency or a qualifying adoption agency as defined in Title 10 of the U.S. Code, Section 1052 and the Department of Defense Financial Management Regulation (DoDFMR) Vol. 7C, Chapter 4.
The subsidy reimburses specific adoption costs, including placement fees, legal fees and medical expenses. It does not reimburse travel expenses.
