A visit from the U.S. men’s basketball team has been on the U.S. Military Academy’s calendar for months. Friday, USA Basketball announced that cadets won’t be the only ones who can see some of the NBA’s best take the court in West Point, N.Y.

ESPN2 will air the team’s two-hour practice from the academy on Aug. 18 at 2 p.m., part of monthlong coverage leading up to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which begins Aug. 30.

About 900 cadets will pack Christl Arena for the workout, according to a USA Basketball news release. There will also be “an interactive basketball drill between the USA Basketball national team and active servicemen and women,” the release states.

Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski, West Point Class of 1969, will bring a stacked lineup to his alma mater, including Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, James Harden and Paul George. The 19-player roster will be pared down to 15 by Aug 22, SI.com reported, and will be at 12 for the World Cup, which will be held in Spain.

The players won’t be the only ones trying to make a good impression at West Point that day — while cadets reported to school about a month ago, Aug. 18 marks the first day of academic classes.

ESPN will begin its pre-World Cup coverage Friday night at 9 p.m. Eastern, airing a Team USA scrimmage live from Las Vegas. The Americans take on Brazil in Chicago two days before visiting West Point, then cap their exhibition schedule with games against Puerto Rico (Aug. 22, 7 p.m. Eastern, New York City) and Slovenia (Aug. 26, 2 p.m. Eastern, Las Palmas, Spain).
