Army Times wants to hear about your experience talking with an Army recruiter. (Army)

Think back to that fateful day when you walked into the recruiting station. You were probably greeted with a warm smile, a firm handshake and a vivid picture of your future life as an Army soldier. Oh, sweet HOOAH.
Now think of all the stories the recruiter told you. Did he impress you with all the places you’d see? Did he promise you a 20-year career with awesome benefits to boot? Perhaps he sold you on an “awesome” MOS that just so happened to be severely undermanned.
How much of what your recruiter said turned out to be true, and how much turned out to be a fairy tale?
We want to hear from you.
What were the impressions you got from your recruiter? What was his sales pitch? What were the most outlandish claims? What turned out to be true, and what was horribly false?
Please email your recruiter memories (good, bad, funny or otherwise) to managing editor Tony Lombardo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please include your name, rank, city and state. Your comments could be used in an upcoming Army Times feature.
