ONEIDA, N.Y. — Two donors are offering a reward in the search for a Marine Corps medallion that disappeared from a veteranís headstone in Oneida Castle Cemetery.
A $200 reward will be given to anyone who can help find the medallion that was attached to the grave of Lance Corporal Jeremy Lasher.
Vicky Arnold says she last saw the silver dollar-sized medallion on the base of her sonís headstone on Memorial Day. She discovered it missing when she returned to the cemetery the next day.
Lasher was killed in action in Afghanistan in July 2009 by an improvised explosive device.
Arnold says the medallion was placed on the headstone three years ago by her son-in-law, who was with Lasher when he died.
The incident is under investigation by the state police.
