DENVER — Denver police have arrested a man suspected in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 23-year-old Buckley Air Force Base airman.
Department spokesman Sonny Jackson says 32-year-old William Pettapiece was arrested shortly after the crash that killed Michael Snyder, whose motorcycle was hit near the intersection of East Alameda Avenue and Monaco Parkway at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say Pettapiece fled the scene in his van but was caught a short time later. He is being held on suspicion of vehicular homicide, hit-and-run and DUI.
The Denver Post reports Snyder was a member of the 460th Space Communications Squadron.
