The frigate Taylor ran aground while mooring in Samsun, Turkey, on Feb. 12, and officials are investigating the scale of the damages, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa said in a Tuesday news release.
“The incident occurred as Taylor was preparing to moor in Samsun, Turkey,” the release said. “Taylor was able to moor without further incident.”
The release said there were no reported injuries and that the incident is under investigation.
Taylor departed Mayport, Fla., on Jan. 8 on what the Navy billed as a seven-month cruise.
