Brig. Gen. Jay Silveria has been chosen as the next commander of the Air Force Warfare Center. (Air Force)
Brig. Gen. Jay Silveria has been selected for his second star, and will become the next commander of the Air Force Warfare Center, the Pentagon announced Monday.
Silveria is vice commander of 14th Air Force, Air Forces Strategic at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
Air Force Warfare Center is part of Air Combat Command, and is located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. The center is charged with training and equipping forces to conduct integrated combat operations.
The center’s current commander, Maj. Gen. Leffrey Lofgren, has been selected for assignment as deputy commander of U.S. Air Forces Central Command and deputy, combined force air component commander of U.S. Central Command, Southwest Asia.
The Defense Department also announced Col. David A. Krumm has been selected for the grade of brigadier general, and he received a new assignment as vice commander of 5th Air Force, Pacific Air Forces at Yokota Air Base, Japan. Krumm is principal military assistant to the secretary of defense at the Pentagon.
