NEWBURGH, N.Y. — A New York Air National Guard unit based in the Hudson Valley is unveiling its new flight simulator training facility for crews that fly C-17 cargo planes.
Leaders of the 105th Airlift Wing based at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh will be joined by officials from L-3 Link Simulation and Training for Thursday morning’s official opening of the training center.
Texas-based L-3 Link provides training systems, flight simulators and trainers for U.S. military aircrews.
The 105th flies the massive C-17 cargo plane known as the Globemaster. The new state-of-the-art simulator will provide training for C-17 crews assigned to the 105th.
