HARRISON TOWNSHIP, MICH. — Authorities say a man carrying a handgun was detained by military police at an entrance to Selfridge Air National Guard Base.
State police said they were called to assist military police Monday night at the base in Macomb County’s Harrison Township. Authorities said the man walked up to the gate and said he had a weapon. He was disarmed by military police and turned to state police.
In a statement released Tuesday morning, state police said the man may have “mental health issues.” Troopers are investigating.
