Technical sergeant results coming this week

Staff sergeants trying for promotion to technical sergeant will find out Thursday if they’ve made it.

Information about the averages for selectees, including test scores, time-in-grade and time-in-service points and overall scores, will be released Tuesday.

Promotion rates for technical sergeant have fluctuated over the past five years, with the lowest at 18.55 percent in 2008 and the highest at 24.9 in 2011. Last year, the promotion rate was 22.77.

Skills test scores have held steady, at about 55 percent, but professional fitness exams have climbed from an average of about 68 in 2008 and 2009 to 75.37 last year.
