MASCOUTAH, ILL. — The primary air wing at Scott Air Force Base in southern Illinois has a new commander.
Air Force Col. Kyle J. Kremer took the post for the 375th Air Mobility Wing during a ceremony at the base on Friday. The Belleville News-Democrat reports that Kremer replaces Col. David L. Almand, who has been assigned to Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.
This is Kremer’s third assignment at Scott. He comes from McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas. Kremer says he and his family are excited to be back at the air base and “back in the cornfields of Illinois.”
Scott Air Force Base is located near Mascoutah, about 25 miles east of St. Louis.
