WEST POINT, N.Y. — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is scheduled to speak Saturday to about 1,000 graduates at West Point.
Hagel visits West Point after a turbulent week for the military.
The Army said Wednesday that a sergeant at West Point had been charged with secretly photographing and videotaping at least a dozen women at the academy. It was the latest in a series of sexual misconduct incidents across the military.
The U.S. Military Academy cadets will graduate in a ceremony at Michie Stadium. Graduates of the storied military academy on the banks of New York’s Hudson River become second lieutenants in the Army.
On Friday, President Obama in a speech at the U.S. Naval Academy addressed the sexual abuse scandals that have sullied the military’s image.
