Air Force Personnel Center officials say the Military Personnel Data System is back up and running after a 17-day shutdown.
The system was taken offline on March 4 for an upgrade and a transfer to the Defense Information System Agency Defense Enterprise Computing Center.
Officials anticipated the system would be shut down for about 23 days, but were able to turn it back on six days ahead of schedule.
MilPDS is the primary records database for personnel data and actions that occur throughout every airman’s career. MilPDS is also used to initiate pay actions, maintain Air Force accountability and strength data and support a host of interactions with other Air Force and Department of Defense processes and systems that rely on personnel data.
