Air Guard Brig. Gen. Don Johnson (Air Force)
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Tennessee Air National Guard general has been reprimanded for giving Tennessee Titans football tickets that were bought by the Guard to his family and friends.
WSMV-TV obtained an internal investigation from the Air Force inspector general that shows Brig. Gen. Don Johnson gave his family and friends tickets to four games last season for a Titans suite. The station says military officials who got the tickets thought they were to be used by military recruits or Guard staff.
The investigative report says Johnson used tickets for himself, his wife, his in-laws, his two sons and their girlfriends.
A Guard spokesman said Johnson wasn't available for an interview, but in the report he is quoted as saying he is embarrassed. The spokesman said a General Officer Letter of Reprimand by the vice chief of staff of the Air Guard was placed in Johnson's official service record.
Johnson is the assistant adjutant general for the Tennessee Air National Guard.
