My dad being in the military has made it hard for me to understand the meaning of sad. He has made my patriotism to my country (if laid out) stretch out for miles on end. Furthermore he has made my patriotism to my country very good because he always makes me pull out my clarinet and play "The Star-Spangled Banner."

On the same note as patriotism, he will get angry at me if I disrespect his "Big Red One." Also he has inspired me to help others because I learned at an early age that there wouldn't be any kind people if no one was kind to the bullied or the weak. On the same note as the helping others, I never get made fun of because the bullies are somewhat afraid of me because they can't bully me.

He has altered my outlook on life because, if he was too kind, I would never learn life lessons, but if he was too harsh, I would never want to be near him; but he is in the middle of the kind and harsh people. Also he has altered my outlook on life because he never gets angry at me unless I did something really bad.

Furthermore he has told me basically that nothing in life is handed to you on a silver platter and if it is, approachwith caution because it is probably a lie that will bite you in the you-know-what after a few years. On that same note, he has altered my outlook on life because well he's my dad and I am always looking to him for a role model.
