Because my dad is in the Air Force, my life is different than other kids'. I have to move around and leave my friends more than another kid's whose dad or mom isn't in the military. One of my best friends just moved this summer, and I'm feeling very sad because I don't have many more friends, and I might not ever see him again. When my friend moved, I realized it's hard to make new friends. I've learned to be nice to people because I don't have as many friends as some other people have. There is a girl in my third-grade class whom a lot of kids make fun of because she cries a lot. I sit by her and am very nice to her and help her with her schoolwork. I don't understand why kids are so mean to her because she's soft-hearted. This girl invited our whole class to her birthday party. I decided I should go because I thought no one else would go, and I didn't want her to feel bad; it turns out that only her best friend and I came. I thought it was very weird because her birthday party was at the ice skating rink and it's awesome there. I'm trying to be very nice so people will want to be my friend. I hope when I move next summer that people will try and be nice to me.
